Chatsworth takes gold at the National Tourism Awards – Destination Chesterfield

Chatsworth has struck gold in the National Tourism Awards designed to highlight organizations going the extra mile to deliver a high quality day out as the hard-hit sector continues its path to recovery.

The Visit England Awards recognize the best in the country’s tourism industry, celebrating quality, innovation and best practice in the tourist attractions sector. The gold award for Chatsworth was the only one awarded for Derbyshire and the Peak District for 2020-21, and one of only three across the region.

Pamela Pearson, Visitor Experience Team, Chatsworth, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded Gold for 2020-21. The enormous challenges facing the tourism industry as a result of the pandemic make this year’s award even more special, so we would like to dedicate the award to all of our colleagues and volunteers who stepped up in difficult times to welcome our much appreciated visitors. ”

With much of 2020 marred by closures and restrictions, 2021 is coming to an end with a successful Christmas celebrating the 20th anniversary of the very first in-house holiday season. Open until January 9, 2022, visitors can enjoy the decorated rooms and the illuminations of the garden.

Chatsworth was awarded the Gold award based on scores from its annual VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment.

Chatsworth supports the town’s marketing and economic growth through Chesterfield Champions, a network of over 200 organizations across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
