Greek National Tourism Organization reopens branch in Spain
the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) reopened its branch in Madrid with the aim of promoting Greece as a destination to Spanish travellers.
After remaining closed for nearly a decade, the GNTO office in Spain restarted a few weeks ago and is housed at the Greek Embassy in Madrid.
Among the main responsibilities of the new office is the promotion of Greece in the Latin America.
In an announcement, the GNTO cited data that shows the high interest of travelers from Latin American countries in traveling to Europe and in particular to Greece.
“Greece is a destination that can offer strong emotions to its visitors, whether they choose to familiarize themselves with its ancient culture and gastronomy, or wish to take a leisure trip to the Mediterranean or discover other forms of tourism”, said the GNTO.
According to the General Secretary of the GNTO Dimitris Fragakiswith the reopening of the Spanish office, the organization also aims to explore the potential of The opening of Greece to new markets.
“Starting with Spain, we also plan to open new offices abroad in the coming months. Greece has the potential to strengthen its presence in areas that were not – until now – among its priorities,” he said.
Fragakis thanked the Greek Embassy in Madrid for its contribution and wished good luck to the leaders of the new GNTO office.
