Quang Nam (VNS/VNA) – More than 200 dancers and artists staged an artistic performance: “The Legendary Night of My Son Shrine” in Duy Xuyen District, Central Province, on March 24, marking an important event of the National Year of Tourism – Quang Nam 2022.

The province said the show would begin at 4 p.m. at the UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site in Duy Phu township, 40 km from Hoi An, with a series of cultural performances, arts and demonstrations. crafts throughout the day.

Visitors will explore the ancient culture of the Cham people and the Vietnamese community by participating in exhibits and demonstrations of woodcarving, weaving, terracotta, cooking and the beauty of the Cham tower complex.

My Son Sanctuary – a UNESCO recognized World Heritage Site – has been well preserved since its construction thousands of years ago during the prosperous development of the Champa Kingdom between the 4th and 13th centuries.

French archaeologists and researchers discovered the My Son sanctuary earlier in 1885. The first excavations and research on the Cham towers began in 1898-99 by Louis Finot and Launet de Lajongquere.

My Son Sanctuary is still a unique and mysterious archaeological site, and it remains a center for research into the Cham culture – an extinct civilization in Asia, according to local archaeologists.

To celebrate the opening of the National Year of Tourism, Hoi An Ancient Town will host a hot air balloon festival at Hoai River Square on March 25-26.

Meanwhile, a hot air balloon day will be hosted by the city of Da Nang, marking the restart of international flight when Singapore Airlines and Thai Vietjet fly the first international tourists to Da Nang on March 27.

The Vietnam National Tourism Administration will award a 5-star rating to Silk Sense Resort, the fifth resort in Hoi An to achieve the standard.

It is also the first resort in Hoi An to promote the use of eco-friendly products, including paper/bamboo straws, paper bags and paper cups.

Quang Nam tourism also hosts a new recognized community tourism site in Cam Phu village of Dien Ban town. Twenty kilometers from Hoi An, the town offers the recycling of waste into organic dishwashing liquid and soap from used cooking oil in an eco-friendly, zero-waste and chemical-free circular economy.

A group of six agencies and tour operators – FGV Group, Hoi An Memories, Tan Thanh Fishing Village, Thien Minh Group, Silk Group and Phu Ninh Lake Eco-Tour – will also launch conservation tourism links of indigenous culture in Quang Nam.

The opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year will be held at Hoi An Memory Island – a natural sandbar that emerged on the banks of the Thu Bon River – on the evening of March 26.

Quang Nam – home to the two UNESCO-recognized World Heritage sites of My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Town, and the Cham Island-Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve – plans to accommodate 4.4 million tourists in 2022./.
