The name of Burhanpur suggested for the National Tourism Award

Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh): The Burhanpur district, once known for its textiles, looms and banana cultivation, has started to carve out a niche in tourism.

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board nominated the district for the National Tourism Award.

Each year, the Union Ministry of Tourism invites nominations in various categories for the National Tourism Awards.

Due to Covid-19, the National Tourism Award 2018-19 function could not be organized. Therefore, nominations for the awards have been invited this year.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Bhopal requested a report on all activities carried out in 2018-19 from all districts for this award.

Officials of the Burhanpur District Tourism Department have submitted a report of all its 2018-19 activities to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.

Council officials verified the report. After considering Burhanpur as the best tourist district in Madhya Pradesh, its name was Delhi for the price.

District collector Praveen Singh congratulated all relevant district departments as well as all individuals for this achievement.

Under the direction of additional collector Shailendra Singh Solanki, historian Qamruddin Falak prepared the report which was presented to the Council.

The Burhanpur district is one of the most serious contenders for the award.
